These terms are the rules for using PixelDev — the editor at /forge, the site around it, and published games. If you use PixelDev, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use it.
Who provides PixelDev
PixelDev is operated by Colton Chesnut (“we”, “us”). Contact: hello@pixeldev.app.
Accounts
You can build and play without an account. Signing in is handled by Clerk. You are responsible for the account you use. Usernames and display names must follow our naming rules; we may reject or remove names that fail screening.
If you are a parent or teacher creating an account for a child or a class, you are responsible for that use and for the contact details on the account.
Your projects
You keep the rights to the games you make. To run PixelDev we need a license to host, back up, display, and (when you publish) let other people play your game. If you publish, you also let us show the game in the catalogue and on your profile.
Do not upload material you do not have the right to use. Do not publish someone else’s work as your own.
Publishing and moderation
Public games go through review before they appear in the catalogue. Titles may be chosen from a fixed list. We can refuse, unpublish, or remove a game that breaks these terms, is unsafe for kids, or looks like spam or abuse. Local copies on your device are still yours.
Live rooms
Multiplayer rooms are for building and playing together. Be decent. We may end a room or block a join when something is abusive or broken. Guest display names are screened the same way as other public names.
Acceptable use
Do not use PixelDev to:
- harass, threaten, or bully anyone
- share sexual, violent, or hateful content aimed at kids
- try to break into accounts, rooms, or our systems
- scrape or overload the service in a way that hurts other people using it
- break the law
The service as-is
PixelDev is offered as-is. It may change, break, or go down. We are not promising that every project will sync forever, that every publish will be approved, or that the editor will always match an older version.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for lost projects beyond what we can restore from our own backups. Some places do not allow these limits; there, the limits apply only as far as they can.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change when we do. Using PixelDev after that date means you accept the new terms.
